PTG MEETING MINUTES
November 14, 2011
Officers present; Stephanie Bacon-President, Tiffany Moore-Vice President, Lisa O’Callaghan-Vice President, Erin Nelson-Treasure, and Lisa Ritter-Secretary.
PRESIDENTS REPORT
School events update- Saturday December 16 @ 8:30am Santa Day
Upcoming 6th grade fundraisers
Movie night November 18, Winnie the Pooh @ 5:30pm and Cars 2 @ 6:30pm.
Pizza Factory November 22 located in Salinas on S. Main St. a flyer will go out to the school and you will need your flyer at the door 20% of proceeds go to 6th grade science camp.
ART TILES
We are going to look for it to be funded by a company such as Target or Wal-Mart so the whole school will be able to participate. We will further update.
FALL FESTIVAL
The Fall Festival was a success! Thanks for your hard work Fall Festival team! Also thanks to all the volunteers that showed up to help, we couldn’t have done it without you. Our festival outflows were $3,200 and we made a PROFIT of $8,500!!! Snack shack $231 and BBQ $385
TREASURE’S REPORT
Beginning balance $24,588.91, Remaining expenses $1,455, Reserves $9,600, Available $4,100. The See’s candy sales went well. We will be having a holiday food drive after Thanksgiving break each child at the school will get a brown bag to take home for food donations. The donation barrels will be decorated by the kids. Purposed marquee will further update.
BULLY PROGRAM UPDATE
We want to participate in the program. We are working costs and extra details out. We are looking to have the program hopefully January or February.
No P.T.G. meeting in December, our next meeting will be held January 22, 2012 due to winter break and Martin Luther King Holiday.
EXTRA’S
Sarah Buckner was nominated by Tiffany Moore to be pre-school liaison (basically Sarah will update the pre-school teachers on upcoming activities and fundraisers so that the kids can be included) and she was voted in. Thank you Sarah Buckner.
***In order to have any kind of fundraiser for Prunedale Elementary outside the P.T.G. it needs to be brought to the P.T.G. We have a proposal form to be filled out and returned to the P.T.G. Any board member can help you get the form and can accept the form. At this point the proposed fundraiser will be gone over and voted on and either approved or denied. We ask this because we have planned fundraisers already and we don’t want to overwhelm parents. Please remember to make sure you have enough planning time. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
